Tried it once and it seemed way out of balance. Think I have canine teeth for a reason. There's just something about BBQ, baked beans, and coleslaw that go together.
Yes, I would and do. Have been for about 20 years. Although I am not one of those obnoxious, judgemental, more-moral-than-thou types that give vegetarianism a somewhat deserved bad name.
I couldn't be a vegetarian, but I also couldn't be a carnivore. Balance is what I need. Life w/out cucumbers and tomatoes would be heck for me. Life w/out beef, pork, chicken, fish, would also be heck. What would I smoke for 18hrs?
i am vegetarian. hope to someday be vegan but for now i don't eat meat/fish/fowl or eggs. i do use eggs to bake with but won't eat them any other way. i think it's been about 10 years for me. i don't think i eat correctly or in a healthy way. i'm forever trying to get protien in me.

Well, I am not HUGE HUGE on meat... I could do it if I had to... I would really have to readjust for a while...there would be things I would miss like Sausage on the grill, gyro's, buffalo wings, a juicy cheeseburger... but if I HAD to... I could do it. I love soy/tofu and veg/fruits/legumes... so I COULD do it... it would be a shock for a while... but once I got used to it I would find ways around the cravings for meat...
Although I've always been an omnivore, I find that the older I get, the less meat I seem to need, or tolerate, for that matter. We have meatless meals more and more frequently, and we both seem to do better with them.
I could go with being a complete vegetarian, and someday I may decide to do just that. For now, though, I do still love a perfectly grilled (or braised, or smoked, or stewed, or roasted) bit of animal protein.
just can't eat an animal. nothing with a face. i'm not some kind of zealous animal rights activist and it has nothing to do with religion. i just found myself not eating much meat and thought i should try to be vegetarian. being away from it i really can't stand the thought of eating meat now. i actually get sick. has happened when i've eaten soups that i was told didn't have a chicken base. my husband eats meat and i'll cook for him. just won't eat it.
