Xbox 1 would be the only upgrade. PS4 isn't really an upgrade from the PS2.

Getting too much like partisan politics around here with such a stupid statement. Not saying one is better than the other (XBox One or PS4) but there are factual differences that would cause one to lean one way or the other, this thread on CD lays it out rather well to help you make your choice.

Depends on what you want to use the system for...

I went with the XB1 because XBox Live is miles away better than the PSN, I had a 360 for a number of years that I played daily and a PS3 that I used for one game (MLB The Show) and not much else other than BR movies.

XB1 can now play BR movies, so I sold the 360 and PS3 when I bought the One.

Game titles at launch are far and away better on the XB1... I got the exclusives Killer Instinct, Forza 5 and Dead Rising 3. I also bought the cross platform NBA 2k14.

The XB1 has the "all in one" media capabilities. I have my Comcast cable running through it. Changing the channels is "Xbox go to NFL Network" or "Xbox go to HBO" and it does it... Same for "Xbox volume up" controlling the TV. Kinda cool... I didn't buy the console for that reason but it's a nice feature. The Kinect camera is miles above the 360 version. It's $499 compared to $399 for the PS4 but for the extra $100 you are getting the all in one and Kinect.

I don't have a plans to buy a PS4 right now. There are no games for that machine that I want... I will buy one on April 1st when MLB 14: The Show launches... that's a Sony exclusive and for years they've made the best baseball game and I don't expect that to change.

Other than that I expect all my gaming to be on XB1.

PS4 sales beat Xbone by over a million units. The gap will increase over time.

Yep... And as already mentioned Kia sells more than Porsche but that doesn't make it a better car... Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber sell a lot of albums but that doesn't mean they both don't still suck.
