Crazy how long that interchange is going to take. Talk about milking a project.

BTW, where is the Walmart supposed to end up. An cross road would be helpful.

Community Groups Maneuver to Halt Proposed National Harbor Casino | Washington Informer | African American newspaper, Washington D.C.

With only days before a Maryland commission will begin the process of selecting the location of a proposed casino in Prince George’s County, a consortium of community groups are scrambling to halt plans for a casino at National Harbor.

The group, which includes community members and officials from the Town of Forest Heights, contends that the proposed $800 million National Harbor casino would do little to spur economic development in the surrounding community and would overwhelm roadways in southern Prince George’s County.
Yeah, no idea how adding a resort/casino would add jobs, income, and tax revenue to the area.

NIMBY at its best.

Felker Avenue (renamed Clipper Way) and Oxon Hill Road. It is supposed to be behind John Hanson Montessori School.

Ah, poor location IMO. A lot of work needs to be done to that side of town, especially Rivertowne Commons.

Just has a rundown feel to it. I've only really gone there for the Home Depot and once for the movie theater...worst theater in the entire metro area.

I expect it to take decades to improve that area, if ever. Especially considering how long it takes to build an interchange these days.

Yeah, it seemed excessive................Don't know the crossroad but it will be between the Clarion Hotel and the Elementary School on Oxon Hill Road.

It is going to take a while for that area to transition but that shouldn't stop new development. That's how improvements to an area start. Case in point..................any neighborhood in DC sans early to mid 90s

Default Penn National vows to give 100% of casino profits to Prince George's County during first 15 years

Yeah right! For 15 years?!!.....I don't see that happening with any of them. I mean what kind of business model is that? The first few years are when they stand to be the most profitable....I guess if they don't have a chance of getting it why not go to the extreme.......

What high roller would go to that dump? They should have put more effort into making the casino not look like Hollywood Casino in Charlestown. I don't see people flying from other countries to visit Hollywood Casino. Just don't see it. They'd probably prefer Maryland Live instead. Expand a little by adding a resort option. Try not to look so pedestrian. It would be nice to see the profit forecast from the other casinos.
