Solo fishing should be a good 'social distance' activity.

An avid fly fisherman friend who retired to NE WA has 26 lakes within 1 hr. He can fish for days and not see another soul.

Like motorcycle / and bike riding.... enjoy solo rides, and don't let anyone touch your bike!

Kudos to Inslee for doing the right thing here and saving lives. I have a new-found respect for the man.

I agree with both above posters..I think Inslee is the worst governor this state has ever had..well... until now. He has acted decisively in this epidemic far faster than lets say New York and look at the difference in cases and deaths. New York drug their feet in the beginning and it cost them thousand of lives while Washington took control and saved lives. Here in Clallam county we have had only 14 cases and none severe enough to hospitalize.

With all that said I will still not vote for Inslee because of the rest of his and democratic policies that hurt us deplorably.

WA did 'OK' but... There is room for (much) improvement,

In 'Comparison to others in USA' WA did VERY good.

but that is like being a USA 'public schooled student'... OK is not very internationally competitive.

We (USA and WA) had adequate warning and resources and international collaborators to handle this far better than we did.

Too bad (just like public schools) the LEAST prepared and effective states will control the national 'return-to-normalcy' / cross state-line travel and commerce.

Don't hold your breath, and see how Inslee responds to THAT threat! (neighbors / visitors / tourism / business from states that don't give-a-rip. )

That will be yet another influential and very dangerous decision.

So sad that Politics is running this show. I can't think of a worse way to lead during a crisis.
Politicians should IMPLEMENT the details of the informed, studied and invested professionals, then support the required actions mandated by those who have the knowledge and skillset to evaluate and guide and SOLVE the issue.

Taiwan is an interesting example of success for controlling COVID-19 in the middle of a very caustic relationship with China. Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore did admirably considering their transient population and proximity and vast number of Chinese moving about during CNY.

USA would have been an EZ solution. (in January)
WHO said early on that the Wuhan virus was not a threat and couldn't be contacted person to person.

The World Health Organization on Thursday (Jan 23rd) declined to categorize the coronavirus sweeping across China as a global health emergency, saying there is no evidence of human-to-human infection outside China.

The US shut down actually started in early Feb when the government stopped influx of non citizens from China which is only a couple days after WHO said there was no threat.

What makes you think Trump hates Inslee? The Trump administration has given adequate aid to Washington and the number of cases confirm that. Being the first state to record a Wuhan virus death and the good results afterward with the help from the federal government proves that.

Because Absolute Power had said so, " a snake", "a big zero", "don't talk to Inslee"
You implied in your second sentence that there is a connection between Trump/Adminitration and Inslee.

“Insubordination,” ok Jay. That right there tells you what Lisping Jay thinks about his “subjects,” guess he believes he’s everyone’s superior, this is the stuff left wing windowlickers absolutely live for

Which is why using a more scientific name makes more sense. Thanks for proving the point!

We have fish, clams, oysters and Dungeness crab on the land and water that we OWN.
It has no public access at all.

I will not poach but, could we by chance be able to harvest from our own property?
Is that too much to ask???

I saw the pics where people were elbow to elbow fishing.
Maybe we could just fine the heck out of those peeps that don’t understand social distancing.
Makes no sense to punish people harvesting on their own property that are keeping up with the social distancing rule.

My neighbors all raise oysters.
Are they now in violation of the current laws if they want to eat them?

Other than that I think the governor did fine with this situation but he isn’t one that I would normally like.

People that paint with a broad brush don’t see clearly in my view.
