Yes, lifestyle conservation and community responsibility will be the key.

That said... My Dodge Ram gets 22mpg (empty) on free home brew fuel (since 1976). It also tugs 40,000# around the hills and Mtns of WA state (daily). It also will last 1m miles, (not requiring additional Manf / raw material / chemical / energy impact of building a replacement (plastic / electronic) disposable (?) vehicle). It will last the rest of my driving life (as will my efficient cars).

Do your part, but be careful to no impose an unreasonable burden on those who are doing their part (within the constraints of their needs, finances, and abilities)

You're right, most of the time the 520 tolls are lower than those for the bridges in the Bay Area, largely because the Bay Area bridges don't use time of day pricing. However, with the exception of the Golden Gate Bridge, the 520 tolls are higher during peak commute hours (7-9 am, 3-6 pm) Monday-Friday. That's because they're charged in both directions, while on the Bay Area bridges they're only charged one way.

As for the specter of another toll increase on Bay Area bridges to bail out BART and other transit agencies, we'll see about that. The voters would have to approve it and they just had the rate raised from $6 to $7 in January as part of a previously approved measure.

If you want something reliable, fair priced and a good ride well Buick yes Buicks are a good deal used. The stigma of a retired person ride lowers its value a lot.

If I was looking for a ride to drive cross country a quiet, soft Buick is fine with me.

So you literally said that the problem doesn't affect you. But, to you, anyone who it does affect, and dares speak out in opposition, is "whining" and "bitching"?

Spoken like a true liberal!

I have a mule, but I don't know if he can keep up with all the Teslas & Rivians that I see on the way to Seattle. He's cheaper, though.

And no emissions that are unnatural. Just don't do that where the Teslas drive.

You can get a little buggy for him and make it a little more sporty.

Paid $2.69 a few minutes ago (in central TX) 83f, nice day for a 100 mile ride on dirt ranch roads, I only saw 3 cars, but that's busy for my route. Glad I get 60 mpg on this gas hog. I'll be using my 120 mpg MC in WA. Wish they burned my free fuel.
