Just a little strange hiking in mid April with no blooms or even many buds on trees. This is in Guilford, CT

About 10 miles from I-95/coast. 720 feet up.

They look like bluebells.

Here are some pictures from yesterday that I took when I was up in London. It was a lovely day, sunny and reached 19C and is set to be like that for the rest of the week I went to London Zoo, but from the pictures you can see that a lot of trees are in bloom now:

My road at 9:30am.. love it at this time of the year, the colours in the sun look amazing!

Ha! What a coincidence. I was out opening the photo season tonight as well. Now you see the latitude-difference:

Quite sterile here:

Some kind of Lilys there:

This is as green that you can find at the moment:

Some moron thought to take a swim in the river :

No snow on the hills:

Clear skies:

No swimming yet:

8pm and the sun is up there:

Sunset:

Back down:

I could comment that you don't really see it in the pictures, but the bushes and alders, birches, rowans and willows have all buds now, but closed. Lindens some have, some not. Maples too. Oaks and ashes are naturally completely "lifeless" yet.

Hope that the warmer spell around Easter happens, and then it's only a matter of time before proper green starts to appear.

Turku looks more springlike than the Texan panhandle.
