I'm going to wait until it's recorded at Heathrow as that's the universally recognized station for London. I reassert my conviction that for the purposes of this forum London has still not reached the magic number!
To all who are going to argue that "Kew Gardens is more representativ of London" deal with it, Heathrow is your official recording station...Central park is NYC official station and while many other downtown stations reached 90F long before it we waited until Central park hit that benchmark to state that "NYC has recorded its first 90F day" I believe we should, for the sake of consistency, do the same for London.
We already dealt with this and I think everyone was in agreement that if one locale in a city reaches a particular temp, suffice it to say that temp was reached and move on.
Just because Heathrow hasn't reached 80f doesn't mean that London hasn't officially. That would be like saying that NYC hasn't hit x temp because Central Park has and JFK hasn't. Kew is an official station with a longer record than Heathrow.
Also, those 'historical averages' are horribly inaccurate. The average high for today is around 72-73f, not 69f.
Yes, we all know accuweathers climate stats are inaccurate for London. However the weather HISTORY is correct and shown that London has yet to hit that magic number
Lol, our low temperatures will likely be lower than Midway though. Depends what happens with that hot air next week to be honest. If those charts verify then it would mean 33C-34C by day and about 20C at night. I won't be getting excited until those charts get into the reliable time frame though. I think a warm pattern is nailed on, it's just about how warm we will get
It would be cool to see if London and other areas in NW Europe can break all time records. Be funny to watch Joe Bastardi squirm out of that one. Oh he'll just do his usual and ignore it and focus on the cool weather in the eastern US as he always does. Guy is a complete joker.

The why was the same not done for the Miami thread, NYC thead and all the other threads. Just because London is heat-deficient does not mean it has the right to follow seperate guidelines than the rest of the world. Regardless it seems London will most definately hit 80F next week and possibly reach 90F, Cheers!

Yeah, I've come to realize a while back models are worthless at getting the temps right, but good at getting the trend and whether above or below average. Sometimes the models are below the actual highs, other times above. I check this all the time as I have a subcription to the ECMWF, Canadian, and GFS. They almost never get the temp right, but do get the trend.
