It was exactly 20:51 (08:51pm) when the third image was taken. The sun stayed up for 2.5 more hours.

Went to the mountains yesterday. Some unsociable chamois:

Artificial lakes look quite ugly when not full.

Coulds started to look menacing.

Didn't get any rain though.

Much sunnier near the coast:

Nice natural arch

Spoiler
The water does look inviting.

Actually this river is when the western half of the French Riviera gets its water from:

Mediterranean climate, but no chaparral

"Beware of black ice". Point noted.

Beautiful images and landscapes, my favorite is the second image.
How long drive is this from Nice?
I will soon be going down there.

Thanks! The first batch is from the Mercantour NP, in the northwestern edge of Nice's département, near the Italian border. It's a 1h30 drive to Saint-Sauveur-sur-Tinée. The second is from near Grasse, about 1 hour from Nice (Saint-Vallier-de-Thiey).

Lol you're heading to France every summer?

I do too, I simply dislike having to travel 30+ km to get out of the single spot in the country that looks like Germany.

Leaving on a jet plane... Since some posters love airports for some reasons, I'll let people guess. Taken at sunset, obviously (though I guess sunrise is possible).
