Just went back from a run. Temp was 29.3°C with a 23.3°C dp (85°F / 74°F dp). Summer is definitely made fot sitting on one's bum.

Lots of noisy insects around:

Pines and palms really complement each other. I'd love to see Sabal minor underneath Pitch Pines in New York.

Bismarckia nobilis, a zone 10 palm, is very common in Orlando, which is in zone 9.

Yep sounds familiar..they made a lot of noise, those cicadas...
Although a little too warm for my liking at daytime, I did run several afternoons in full sun, temperature about 31C.

Awesome dry day that unfortunately got warmer as the sun went higher but not bad for mid July!

Felt very touristy today. Went to the Train & Boat ride in Essex, CT on the Connecticut River

Walking to get the tickets

Waiting to board the train

Extra, Extra, read all about it. They handed out newspaper prints to resemble the past. Coolidge was a New Englander. Born in Vermont. Died in MA. President of the U.S in the 1920s.

From the train.. went through a bunch of woods and crossed some streets.. Almost felt bad the cars had to stop at the tracks for us. lol

Spoiler

Skipping to the boat... from the Top.. Captain inside there steering us down the River

Beautiful Breeze & Cumulus Clouds. 75°F and Dry

Reminds me of the south. lol

Rather be doing this!!

Spoiler

Ummmmm, What the heck happened? On the River, on a boat (moving slow) and No wind! Was getting hot fast!

Leaving the boat to board the train to go back to the parking lot.

Facing the boat.. 3 levels. I stayed on the top for the breeze and views. Mixed crowd since it was weekday. Young, Old and kids.

Cool old steam roller?

Spoiler

Went to several other towns and places along the coast. Some very serious private yachts to be observed, some nearly 100 m long...

Was a festival in Avignon, lively.

That looks like great fun - I'd love to be able to do something like that around here.

Pretty awesome weather for July - can't say I'm not envious even with the cooler and drier day we had today.
