No 90 here yet either. It would be cool if we made it to June without recording a 90F temp. We probably won't though, as Wunderground forecasts 89F tomorrow, 91 and 92 Sun and Mon respectively.

For those wondering why the West doesn't see cold like the East even with a buckled jet stream...

This mornings Jet Stream...

Take note of the flow and the winds from the pattern... From the Northwest but it's coming right from the Pacific. See next map

Current 850mb temps. (5000' temps)

It's VERY apparent what a warm Pacific does with a flow from the NorthWest! That air eats into any real cold air coming down from Canada (especially this time of yr of course)

But you can see just the NW corner of the U.S is cool instead of the entire Western U.S. And even still, Seattle only 50° right now.

Also note... there is no cold air around with a diving Jet Stream in the West.

However, you can tell there is a trough in the West because it's snowing in the mountains of Colorado right now.

Today in Northeast. Day #3

Neat maps, though it's a bit obvious from geography why the West (at least the parts closer to the coast) can't get intense cold spells. To get cold continental air, the airflow would need to be from the northeast, doesn't usually happen for days

Wow, what a range. Definitely felt warmer this morning, though still mild. 66°F around 7 am. Was going to go for an early morning bike ride, but cloudy when I woke up and hourly forecast showed the clouds sticking. But instead we got blue sky for several hours. Oh well, tomorrow?

Boo, well probably 50s in Seattle don't feel comfortable either. Would you look at that, cold Seattle warm East Coast. Almost like it's a kind of patterning connected somehow

I've been in air conditioned environment (car) for maybe 2-3 hours over the last three days. When it's hot, I experience it, and when it's cold, I experience it lol. That's why I hate winter so much.

Today's cooler than yesterday and the day before, it's in the low 80's, but the DP is in the 60's.

Yeah, totally a given but thought a visual would be cool to see in case some didnt know or needed to be reminded.

I keep forgetting you dont see these maps everyday. I take it for granted that I look at them multiple times a day thinking everyone sees the same thing.

I should post them more.
