Is that any worse than a certain someone on this forum that said they simply couldn't go outside or to the supermarket or the gym (which is indoors!) because it's below freezing outside?

Sounds like Joe Bastardi lol or all the other long range forecasters.

I know because I went to school in Texas, and my kids are currently in school in Texas. But you can't convince people that have never been here that we learn evolution, have far less racial strife than many places in the north, and are genuinely nice people.
Nope. I'm basing it off news reports I see on various different media outlets from the US & around the world (newspapers, blogs & TV). I know even your average American can be a crazy bible basher, but those in the deep south are something else, objecting to anything from unisex toilets & gay rights, to teaching kids that the earth wasn't made 6000 years ago...

Plus the KKK still exists & do you know where the majority of their chapters are? That's right, in the south

I honestly don't mind shoveling snow. I've done it about a dozen times my whole life granted, but I loved it every time. I love physical exercise and the cold, so I don't see the negative.

That's like me telling you to move to Laredo, TX and experience 90 degree temps for six months of the year, who the **** am I tell you that you won't like it? It's just pure assumption on your part. Not everyone is as whiny and you and tom.
Actually you're right telling me that I won't like it, I think I would go crazy if I had to experience 90f temps six months a year. I like 90f occasionally, maybe 30-40 times a year, but sure as hell not for months at a time. Im just saying, Upstate NY is a huge jump in terms of winter and I wouldn't be surprised if it was a huge shock to the system living there. I grew up in Moscow and then lived all my life in New York and even to me Upstate NY was a huge wake up call

Yeah, rare but it happens. I think that was the winter we had two separate snows where it actually accumulated on the ground. I've lived here for 43 years, and I can count on one hand the number of snows I have seen, and only three times did it actually accumulate on the ground. Normally, it melts as soon as it touches the ground.

I haven't seen you do anything either, besides stay in Philly and ***** about how cold it is.

Btw, I'm moving to Minneapolis before the end of this year anyways.

And if you know who Kamsack is, he moved from Bowling Green, KY to Grand Forks, ND because he loves cold weather. But he did this in like 1990.

Lol, my ideal place would be Europe where they don't get crazy anomalies so moving isn't nearly as easy. Eventually I would like to spend winters at my British friends condo in Spain. Far better than the South with their crazy negative anomalies in winter.

The US has no where with a climate I find excellent. In the South you have to take very hot and humid summers to get a decently mild winter, but then you can't do decent subtropical gardening due to the crazy winter anomalies. It is much easier for an extreme cold lover to find their ideal climate in the US than a person that wants mild winters with warm summers (not hot), and no crazy winter negative temp departures.

Well maybe it was a bit of an exaggeration, but when it's winter I like to sync my gym and supermarket days to the days when it's the warmest

I don't see Minnesota booming in population compared to CA, TX, AZ or FL.

In Europe and the rest of the developed world, as in pretty much everything in life, they seem much more moderate in their weather tastes and less likely to be extremists in weather or anything.
I got started with my weather interest with storms. Hurricanes, thunderstorms, and snowstorms. Especially hurricanes though. At age 9 during the summer it's all I would do, watch the weather channel. See any developing hurricanes. Then I would every winter do the same thing, say to myself it won't snow to make it snow lol. I didn't want to jinx myself and not get snow. I remember being so anxious and nervous every winter waiting for it to snow, I was scared it would be the winter where I did not even see a flake! Then 2011 and 2012 came and I was shocked lol, I didn't see snow those winters, after that I guess I grew up lol. Still get excited over snow though.
