Why spend the money fighting in a state primary he was slated to lose from the git-go, when that money will be better spent if he goes into the GE?
Even if he wins the Democratic nod, I still somehow doubt he will campaign heavily in WV. There are other swing states (larger) that he would focus on.
Not saying WV is irrelevant, but sometimes you simply have to pick your battles.
Hmm.. Calculated or epic blunder?

No matter who you vote for today, JUST VOTE. Don't let outsiders trying to sway you convince you it's pointless. It's not hard, you may not be thrilled about any of the candidates, but for the dems especially, this is a horse race.
Considering how close all the elections have been these past few years, thats when WV electoral sway has the most muscle. Remember how tight the tipping point was in flordia? Let's not be the ones who fell down on the job.
GET YOUR VOTE OUT!
If you don't vote, you're also disqualifying yourself from legitimately airing grievances.
<note to self: don't forget to bring your voter card thingy when you leave the house.>

Really? We don't have to do that in PA. Or is it because you recently moved?

I have to bring my voter registration card and proof of residence. My drivers I.D. still has my old address in Berkeley County so I need to also bring along a copy of my utility bill (just in case).

I think the decision to concentrate resources elsewhere was calculated. If Hillary spent $3 million, it would probably take $6-10 million (not to mention several days of campaigning) to even have a chance of changing the outcome.
The blunder was not putting the word out to the Obama bloggers to lay off the anti-WV rhetoric. That may haunt them come November; West Virginians have long memories.

Ain't that the truth. One of the reasons WV was such a Democratic state for so long was because of what Radical Republicans in the state did from 1861-1871. It almost became genetic.

You just can't put a lid on stupidity. These races bring the worst out of some people, all sides included.

Wv was solidly Republican Reconstructionist until 1930. Held the Democrats down like it was done in the other parts of the country (south).
The Democrat movement took legs with the push of socialism with the Bolshevics and the Trade Unions...It was a revolt against the status quo and when the Depression hit Wv...a complete swing was seen polically with FDR and his 'New Deal...a little PR work with Eleanor Roosevelt and the rest is history...JFK resurrected WV with his campaign and its been downhill ever since...

I've never had to do it before either. NY had my signature on file as part of the process and if it didn't match what was in their register books on station, off with your head. That's how they kept out the riff raff, and didn't exclude folks without their particular version of proper ID. NY enjoys few problems because they kept it very simple.
WV issues a voter ID card (no photo), and I don't know what other documents they consider as legit to prove who I am. Still have my nys drivers license in effect so that isn't as valid for WV. My order of the golden dragon card has no sway with anyone.
Better to overdo it than show up short is my motto, especially when dealing with bureaucratic processes. I'll bring the mail too, as threerun suggested.

Don't show your NY driver's license, or they'll arrest you on the spot for not getting a WV license fast enough.
