no lunch today, and it looks like no dinner will be coming because its already pretty late. One of the parents came back empty clawed. Jr tried to follow them when they left. Must be mighty hungry.
I haven't seen him get actual loft yet. Mostly just hopping and flapping. The breeze seems to inspire him to try more.
update- 8:20pm dinner finally came. Boy was he upset. No fish this time, looks like a piece of squirrel. He's having a heck of a time figuring how to eat it but he's motivated.

Darn- tworivers how did you get those snapshots on the video? he was looking right at the webcam today and I couldnt figure it out even when paused.
Hot day for him it seems. He was panting heavily, and close enough to the cam to see his tongue hanging out like a dog. He was chewing on scraps earlier so I know he ate. He's just fidgety today.

In WinXP, I do a Windows Screenshot.
When ready, simply hit the 'print screen/SysRq' button on your keyboard.
Open Paint, click in the blank window, click 'edit', click 'paste'. done
Then give the file a name with '.jpg' at the end, '.bmp' if that's what you need. I prefer .jpg for most pics.
Also in Paint, you can cutout the pic to eliminate text.
I keep the mouse cursor at the pause button to be ready to snap a still pic.
The screenshot will capture the whole screen just as you see it, so being in fullscreen (F-11) is best, and with other tabs or windows closed.
HTH!- (hope this helps)

two thanks for the tip, I'm sure others will find it useful, but I've got a mac LOL. I normally drop and drag photos but it doesn't work with the cam pic.
Big catch brought back to the nest @3:30 ish... fish was almost as big as his body. Holy cow flying with that in claws. Powerful animals to behold. Flyboy looks like he's almost as big as dad soon.

On a (recent) Mac, you can use the following:
... To capture the entire desktop, hold down Apple Key + Shift + 3. The image will be saved on your desktop as "picture #". You can then use photo editing software to crop to the desired portion of the image.
... To capture a region, hold down Apple Key + Shift + 4. Your mouse pointer will change to a crosshair; drag to select the rectangular region you want to capture.

Harborlady, How would you you like to see pics of an Eagle, maybe Osprey, swimming with a 32" Musky in it's talons? It made it to shore for lunch.

Flyboy has taken a liking to perching right next to the camera and microphone... a couple of times when he squawked I nearly jumped.

Up late tonight, have been checking in on Flyboy since 9pm and couldn't spot him. Really thought he'd flown the coop. Finally, he flexed a little and I saw him in the top right, hiding in the darkness.
Seems he has be on the outer twigs of the nest. He may slip off and start flying, without trying.
