Doing a solo road trip-have a few days off work (worked over 4th weekend). I need to see what has been going on. And I miss that Wisconsin state of mind.

Looks like we are going to be here far longer than planned.

We are thinking about taking a vacation up to Bayfield in the Fall. Any recommendations for hotels/B&B's, etc? The best things to do? Is it worth taking the boat out to the islands?

Thanks!

How has everyone been so far this summer? I've moved to Baraboo and am in love with the place. Anyone do any trips this summer that they would like to share? I'm heading up to Minocqua for nine days at the end of July so I really look forward to that. I will be traveling to the Porcupine Mountains as well in the up of Michigan.

Woohoo, Jill, you are really making progress, good for you!

Didn't know you moved Josh, glad you like Baraboo! Enjoy your trip "up north"!

My sisters have been to Bayfield and they liked the boat trips. I haven't been but it is on my list! I've checked out Madeline Island a few times and would like to take the ferry over and stay a day or two! I like the rustic cabin/room routine, I'm kind of a no frills gal!

I've been up to my sisters in the u.p. for a few days, she was here for the 4th of July. My other sister from Iowa was here in June and we're having a family get together in August at Lake Rathbun (Iowa).

It is over a weekend, I really try to stay home as much as possible during June/July/Aug. as weather is good here I don't like to leave. I am going to NC in late Sept. with the senior center, a six day bus trip, should be fun.

Well, that is my update, hope all is well with everyone!

We are going to Devil's Lake end of this month to camp and scuba.

Sue, it has been a great summer, hasn't it? We are coming up for 10 days after Baraboo to do some work. But, we plan to get some tubing and fishing, rent a boat for a few days. Maybe check out Chetek.

Where about in North Carolina are you heading? If you are in the western portion of the state around the Blue Ridge Mountains you MUST get a digital camera. It is beautiful there.

Hi Josh and all! I was just going to ask the same question of Susan - curious where you are going in NC -great time to go! I'm hoping to head to Mt. Airy/Pilot Mountain in September or Oct. to visit my friend who moved down there from here. We went to Red Wing, MN a few weekends ago and that was a nice trip. Heading to Green Bay week from Sat. to see a friend who moved back there after 20+ years in Louisville - we haven't seen each other in over 20 years! (Yikes!!)
