Exactly. Country is too soft, by half.

Most, Tober, true, but we are coming up on a 10 year anniversary where a smattering of folks caused thousands to die. Not hard to imagine dozens of incidents of folks going postal, affecting dozens each.

I have to believe the government has been investing more in preparing for civil unrest than actually fixing the problems at hand. For the most part, there is very little the government can actually do to fix these problems, I think they are just trying to keep face to buy time. All the while, the military spending continuous to hold steady. There are tons of battle hardened soldiers overseas. In a worst case scenario, the government would ship some of them back here and unleash them on the people if push came to shove. This all sounds pretty wild as I'm writing this, but we do live in wild times.

Hopefully. Can't preach fairness with nepotism and first come first serve businesses. America is a country built on slave labor and exploitation of multiple minorities. Businesses that flourished off cheap labor are given tax breaks and handed down generation by generation. Can't keep money in the family forever.

Actually Tober not voting is a bad sign if you wish for no upheaval. It signals that only other options are being considered. The people interacting with many others in a friendly way at work are not the danger. Beware the loner who looks ticked, and never talks to anyone. Imagine how many are brewing in a nation with next to no hope right now.

Too bad this guy is gone because he knew what was going on years before everyone else is finally waking up to it.

Exactly, there was a video on the Politics board which was taken down but you can still see it on YouTube.

It showed a county in Georgia where a glitch cut off food stamp cards by mistake.

It gave a small example of how people react when their entitlements stop.

Don't underestimate people when they feel they have nothing to lose.

In addition to all the people who fell on hard times due to layoffs, you have a lot of people in this country who have never worked and expect the govt. to take care of them because they have kids they can't afford.

See how they start to act if they're told the gravy train is ending.

Yes, it will likely happen in areas where the rent-an-anarchist people will stir up those that have never worked and have their welfare and food stamps cut off due to budget problems caused by the newly unemployed. Those people that worked in factories and construction with a wife and kids are not going to get involved in such a waste of time that could result in jail time and prevent them from ever getting a job again.
