The job I just got offered I found on Indeed and it is with an Inc 500 company (large private companies). Before that I found a sales job with a Fortune 500 company that posted on CraigsList. It takes a lot of work to weed through the jobs on both sites but I have landed jobs with two big national companies.
In addition I made sure that I told everyone that I knew that I was looking for work and made sure that I knew where all these people worked. Got three job interviews by seeing an online job posting, sending my resume to friends that worked at these companies and asking them to walk it over to the hiring manager. Did not get any of the jobs, but was able to jump to the front of the line and at least get an interview.

Finding a sales job is not a major accomplishment since those jobs are always available. And they see your resume online and call you or send you emails because those are jobs that most people don't want

I believe, in the pre-crash economy, some 70 percent of the economy was based on consumption, and even then, that was considered "unhealthy." Any efforts to get back to that same level are both unhealthy and doomed to fail.

Yes there are a lot of crappy sales jobs that post online. I was only going after professional sales jobs and trust me the competition for those jobs is fierce. Had to do 5 phone interviews with various people, 2 in person interviews with someone who flew into town to talk to me and 6 other candidates and then had to pass a rigorous background check because the job requires selling to banks and credit unions.
The other jobs I had interviews with were software companies and trying to get into the sales side of a software company requires a lot of effort.
So I was not offered a job that other people don't want, it was a tough gig to land and a major accomplishment. I could see you making that point if I wanted to sell cars or life insurance.
