Send it to them. Remember that they can "let you go" at anytime, if you are in a "at-will" employment state.
right. ok. also don't forget to bend over and stick your arse out so they can have more fun with you. - and while your at it, also jump off the Empire State building when they tell you to jump. ( are you for real<>?)
The new company I just got hired for asks for all previous w2s from other companies I worked for. They want 2008-2013 w2 forms, is this an odd request? Anyway I sent them 2008-2012 but I can't obtain the 2013 one (because I worked under the table but i can't tell them that).do you think that because I can't obtain the one form it will affect my employement? I already got hired this is like an after hire process...any input??
Your company is asking for PERSONAL data they DO NOT have a right to have. Tell them no, and blow gas in their faces!! It's NONE of their damn business how much $$$$ you made at your previous employer.
I agree I would seriously push back to the point of resuming my job search if I was presented with such a request. Sounds like an HR person off their leash again.

I suppose you would let them have your first born too, if they asked for it??? Sucking up is NEVER better than standing up for your RIGHTS as an employee!!!

I've worked at various companies and have never heard of anyone asking for W-2s. That is private financial information and would be like asking to see your bank statements. Too intrusive for me--I don't think I would like to work for that company.

I'm sure PB is simply following corporate-wide procedures. We don't know if the OP has no job at this point w/o PB. I will not tell someone to risk their only means of employment, as I will not pay their bills if they lose their sole employment option.
Have things changed? I've been out of corporate employment for many years, but when I was, I was NEVER asked for a previous W2. Why would they want this? What business of theirs is it how much you've made in the past? This seems very strange to me.
Previous w-2s? I don't even keep those lol. I keep my taxes filed electronically.
Why do they need those? I mean SIX years? A year or two maybe...
