If she gets turned down for the job because MJ was detected, it probably wasn't the tiny amount of MJ that did it that made her a risk but her stupidity.

Why in the world would a sane person,,,,,,,,,,"she is not a user...decide to try MJ brownies ?

I've attended /hosted many " special occasions " yet never felt MJ browsnies had to be served.

What I maintain is that what an employee does on his/her own time that doesn't affect the employer is none of the employer's business. Legal or not.

I also believe what one does on one's own time is none of the employers business; however, this is not the debate thread and the OP's wife consumed a drug. Whether it's legal or not in their state is irrelevant as the employer will not tolerate drug use, no matter if its done on one's own time. Many employers (most actually) have this policy and I find it odd that someone who NEVER did it before would knowingly decide to try it right before a drug test for employment

I also think if she told this employer it was her first time then it also just show how ignorant she is. So probably can say goodbye to the job!

That has got to be a history making first. It's a special occasion! Let's celebrate with a brownie .

I've seen many times potheads claiming that THC intoxication isn't the same as alcohol intoxication when talking about DUI accidents/deaths with some even saying they drive while high because "it doesn't affect them the same way."

... and getting high on your own time and coming to work high is definitely my business when you're working with me and potentially putting my safety at risk. The fact that you smoke weed on your own time puts the possibilities there that you COULD come to work high... and most employers aren't gonna buy that.

Anyways... not much else to see in this thread. I don't care to debate how weed is a safe drug which is pretty much what the potheads like to claim.

Once upon a time I was drug tested for a McJob at a casino. Hair and urine. I had recently had some big dental work done and I had used opioids. I should have tested positive but I did not.

Here's the thing about hair. If yours grows well it lengthens an inch a month at the most. If I have the drug test on Friday and I got high last Monday it can't show up because of the speed of hair growth. The hair test will catch habitual users. Your wife is probably quite safe. Just take the test and see.

But it was not a great choice to eat the brownies when she KNEW about the test.

Dumb move on her part to risk it.
