Man, people are really trying to make a case for CA, even when those of us who live here tell them otherwise LOL.

I don't understand why they keep saying the benefits in CA are better? Lol

Poor people in rich cities don't pay market rents. Usually, they're better off in expensive cities.

The poor live much better in Manhattan than in Mississippi. The fact that rents are much higher is entirely irrelevant.

They do leave, but there are also many arriving at the same time. They go to cheaper places like Arizona, Nevada, Oregon. Those who come, the lure is the weather or romantic notions of what CA is.

Exactly what are these amazing benefits you speak of? Cash aid isn't even enough to rent a room, barely enough for a family to rent a room (most people are charging at least $700 for a room nowadays, even in the crappy areas).

Those who get housing assistance are either refugees/asylees or very lucky people who put themselves on the list 15 years ago.

Its not as easy as all of you say it is.

Because they read about it on the internet. No one who lives here would EVER say such a thing.

Some of those people also accepted job transfers here and if those jobs don't adjust the wages and many don't, your 40,000 a year job that allowed you to live comfortably elsewhere puts you one paycheck away from living on the streets and that salary is too much for you to qualify for any assistance. The places that are cheaper like El Centro or Fresno tend to have poor job markets and high unemployment.

Having received assistance myself in CA and know what they offer and how it works, I too would like to know where these phantom generous benefits are LOL

None of the cities in the US and Mainland China, there is no low cost healthcare for all poor people in the US and Mainland China. There is no subsidy for sick and disabled people in Mainland China.

Forget about Dubai if you are not a citizen of the UAE. Foreigners without money will not receive any help there.

Forget about HK too if you are poor and does not speak Cantonese.
