From yet another comment on yet another story about the conflict in Ukraine:
"...they (the U.S.) would quiet literary cut off their nose to spite their face if it ment they would still be number one."
It's clear that anything remotely literary has quietly eluded this commentor (yes, that's a split infinitive, but "has eluded quietly" just doesn't convey the same meaning).
I strongly suspect this commentor is a paid Putin-bot.
Still another comment on a different article about the conflict in Ukraine:
"All this is beyond the pail".
There are lots of "Jacks" on all sides who are falling down this particular hill and breaking their crowns, but somehow, I think it's going to take more than vinegar and brown paper to patch them up again.

The Oshkosh Northwestern newspaper posted this on facebook:
"Meet Sweat Pea, our Pet of the Week!"
It's too bad that the writer for that newspaper didn't just go whole hog, and call the animal Sweat Pee.
After all, once he/she has impugned the animal's hygiene, he/she might as well make that animal sound as repulsive as possible, rather than mincing words.

That's what I wrote on their page. I said, "Better yet, name the dog Sweat Pee!" Really gross people out!
I'm most happy to be in the company of yours! (Oh, and that's not the saying. Don't think I'm a doofus! HA!)
