I hate when people say,"with that being said..." If I read one more post that says that, I am going to scream!

"Needless to say," I'm going to say it anyway.

I'm never going to Missing. It must be crowded there.

Slang and colloquialisms like y'all or Do what? don't bother me that much. Sometimes they even may be endearing.

I do not mind Y'all unless it is used to a single person.

"Do y'all want to go tot he store with me?"

"I am not sure about the rest of mes but this me would like to go with you and whatever other yous are going"

Are all southerns schizophrenic?

That's a kinda literally German translation. Here we say: "Sie ging verloren."
But usually "ging verloren" is related just to things and not to persons. For instance: "Der Schluessel ging verloren." - "The key went missing."

So, if someone says "Sie ging verloren" is that a kinda funny expression, where Germans have to smile a little. It includes also, that she is back already, without any injuries and everything is fine. (Maybe she went missing cause she was drunken when we were walking, or a child went missing cause she run after the cat.)

If somebody is really missed and nobody knows where she is and obviously there happend something awful, we would never say "she went missing".

a. West Virginia is not a southern state (except for the southern part of WV); and 2. we do know y'all means more than one person as in you all.

But I have heard real southerners use y'all meaning one person.

y'all is often singular... in plural it's y'alls
of course, in some parts of the South, the term is youins...
