Description: Their mission is straightforward: “To provide comprehensive dance education, enriching the spirit, enlivening the imagination and celebrating community.” Serving more than 2,000 students weekly, Children’s Dance Foundation (CDF) uses a professional staff of dancers and musicians to teach kids about the power of dance. Classes are offered for a variety of ages and interests, from theater and special performances to adult/child classes or for those with special needs. Birthday parties include a CDF dance instructor and musician who will lead the children in fun, creative movement based on the theme your child prefers.

Description: A small, welcoming gallery in the Edgewood district of Homewood, Red Dot is a working studio and teaching facility owned by Dori DeCamillis and Scott Bennett. Here, kids (and adults!) can indulge their creative sides through painting, pottery, and drawing classes with the artists. The space, located off the busy Oxmoor Road is open and full of activity as students range from the youngest of beginners to practicing artists with advanced degrees. Description: Located in the Wald Park complex and surrounded by tennis courts, baseball fields, and a walking track, the Vestavia Hills swimming pool (also called the Wald Park Pool) is at the heart of summertime activity in Vestavia and is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Thanks to the air dome, when summer is over, the Birmingham Swim League administers the pool for their various competitive swim teams and practices.
