    Observation: A spoon found in handwashing sink in front area. A handwashing sink may not be used for any other purposes other than handwashing.Removed during inspection, corrected.

    Observation: No handwashing sign at the handwahing sink. A sign or poster that notifies food employees to wash their hands must be provided at all handwashing sinks and must be clearly visible to all food employees. Provided during the inspection.

    Observation: Cove base is missing next to the freezer. Cove base is required at floor/wall juncuture for cleanablity. Repair as needed.
  • Food storage - preventing contamination from the premises
    Observation: Observation: Box of cooking oil stored on the floor under three compartment sink. Pathogens can contaminate and/or grow in food that is not stored properly. Food must be store 6" inches off the floor.

    Observation: There is whole in the cabinet in the front area. Walls and physical facility must be cover and be maintained in good repair. Cover the whole.
  • Storage and maintenance of wet and dry wiping cloths
    Observation: Wiping cloths found wet on the counter- food contact surface. Wiping cloths in-use must be held in sanitizer between used or air dry to prevent contamination. Made sanitizer and put the cloths in sanitizer. Corrected on site.

    Observation: A skylight open without the screen in attic. Outer openings of a food establishment must be protected against the entry of insects and rodents and pest by self-closing, tight-fitting doors or have screen on it. Closed during the isnpection.

  • Storage and maintenance of wet and dry wiping cloths
    Observation: Observed numerous wet wiping cloths sitting on food contact surfaces. The owner states "I use a lot of bleach on the towels." Shall ALWAYS keep wet wiping cloths in a type of sanitizer. The food establishment has chlorine which shall be maintained at 50-100 ppm, and Quat sanitizer which shall be maintained at 200 ppm. The owner was educated and shown how much sanitizer was needed to prevent toxic chemicals on food contact surfaces DUE TO BOTH SANITIZERS WERE IN EXCESS OF OVER 200 ppm. The owner verbalized understanding. The owner stated she would purchase SANITIZER BUCKETS FROM HER FOOD DISTRIBUTOR. CORRECTED ON SITE.

    Observation: Observed an employee drinking from a glass without a cover/lid. THIS IS A REPEAT VIOLATION. ALL employees shall drink from a cup or glass with a lid/cover to prevent contamination.
  • Posting inspection reports
    Observation: The last inspection report WAS posted but not in a conspicuous place for consumers to view. SHALL post at eye level for consumers to view. Upon receiving this inspection in the mail POST AS ABOVE STATED.
  • Drying mops
    Observation: A wet mop was laying on the floor leaning against the wall. After use mops shall be stored to prevent contamination of walls, equipments, and supplies. The owner was educated how to air dry a mop properly and verbalized understanding. CORRECTED ON SITE.
  • Separation from food, equipment, utensils, linens, and single service
    Observation: The handwashing sink had a pump soap dispenser next to marachino cherries,a container of coffee,and mint topping. ALL chemicals shall be stored to prevent contamination of food items,equipment,and supplies. CORRECTED ON SITE.
  • Outer openings are protected
    Observation: The back exit door does not have a self closure. ALL EXIT doors SHALL be provided with a self closing and tight fitting doors, to prevent entrance of pests and rodents. INSTALL THE SELF CLOSURE BY JULY 14TH 2014.

    Observation: The front area has a hole in the ceiling tile which is not a smooth and cleanable surface. THIS IS A REPEAT VIOLATION AND SHALL BE REPAIRED. Repair and send letter of correction by

    Observation: The current license WAS posted but not in a conspicuous place for consumers to view. During this inspection the owner moved to the front part of the store. KEEP IN A CONSPICUOUS PLACE FOR CONSUMERS TO VIEW.
  • In-use utensils, between-use storage
    Observation: Observed paper cups being used has scoops without any handles and held in the food products. Such as when dispensing toppings and leaving utensils in the food product MUST have a handle. The paper cups are NOT A SMOOTH AND CLEANABLE SURFACE. SHALL OBTAIN SCOOPS WITH HANDLES TO PREVENT CONTAMINATION, AND can be washed, rinsed and sanitized.
  • Manual warewashing sinks requirements
    Observation: This food establishment has a 3 compartment sink and only has one stopper. Shall provide at least two stoppers and can use the hose spray for rinsing. Purchase stoppers to properly wash, rinse, and sanitize.
  • Food storage containers identified with common name of food
    Observation: The following food items are NOT LABELED. Such as the plastic container of crunchy peanut brittle with sprinkles and the plastic container of sprinkles. ALL food items taken from original packaging SHALL be identified with the common name of the food.
  • Sanitization of food contact surfaces - before use and after cleaning
    Observation: The blender for the Blizzards machines CONTINUES to be cleaned with water. THIS IS A FOOD CONTACT SURFACE AND SHALL ALWAYS BE CLEANED WITH SANITIZER. THIS IS A REPEAT VIOLATION.

    Employee beverage cup has no lid. Food employee must drink from a closed beverage container to prevent contamination.

    Using water to clean the blender on Blizzard machines. Must provide sanitizer to clean food contact surface. Sanitizer is the most effective way to ensure surface are clean.

    Ice buildup in chest freezer. Defrost to prevent sources of contamination.
