We don't know what's going to come next, but if the good Lord wills, then it will come. Baby New Year will be generously unwrapped in a few short hours, and many people will make some resolutions that likely won't be kept.

As for me, well, I'm just looking forward to that stove top in the morning, where your favorite blogger will make some black-eyed peas and a few corn muffins hot from the oven. Pork jowls. Ham chunks. Butter. Yum. I could taste...

You'd Think Google Maps Could Be More Current

I'll preface by saying that no technological advance or system is ever completely perfect. And I'd have to admire Google for one thing, and that's the street view on Google Maps.

One of its features is the aerial view of any geographical area in which you're viewing. Keep in mind what it took to piece all of those locations together, and furthermore, to keep them as current as possible. Just let that sink in for a moment. I'll admit this: I'm addicted to Google...

New Years Eve 2018

Going through my Facebook memories the other day, there was a picture of my foot from last year. The nurse had just left from putting on the wound vac dressing for the first time. The foot was red and swollen and I remember it hurting like the dickens anytime the dressing was changed. I thought about how much I had come through in the last 12 months to a point now where the wounds are mostly healed up save for some scabbing. There is just a little redness and almost no swelling that I can tell....

Here I am and I went to Ta Phrom again first thing before the Rush started. In fact a Temple guard attached himself to me (as they do) and I asked him about the Frieze of animals. "Ah" he grinned. "Dinosaur". He showed me where it was and bit me ear for $10.
