Time flies...

Posted 07-04-2014 at 11:45 AM by woodworkingmenace (History)

Our 35th Anniversary has come and gone!
Imagine, 35 years with the same wonderful woman... I'm so lucky she picked me to be with her for so long.
And, I love her more today, than then, and I loved her more than anything in the World then!

Today is the 4th of July. Time for reflection of what those who have come before us, sacrificed so much, in order for us to be as free as we can, in such a wonderful Country as this!

Lets face it, Immigrants aren't flocking...

I am really thankful for my library job. As someone who has worked there for 8 years come August, I have grown with the job. I've seen many people leave, a few new people join and my bosses have seen me grow from a teenager to a college student to a young woman who is embarking on her life. This morning when I walked into the circulation room, I saw a white envelope waiting for me. It was from one of the circulation clerks. I've known her since I was 5 since her daughters and I were in the same...

Relocating - looking at new home in Northlake area

Posted 07-04-2014 at 06:26 AM by Carlanavarrete1

Hello everyone, I am looking to relocate. I have been in Charlotte all week from the South parts all the way to the North parts. I am looking for a home to purchase, in low crime rate area and descent charter school. I found a home that I love that will be built in Northlake Landing. I've driven the area a few times this week and hung out all around. It seems to be a good area, Any thoughts? I will work off of East Independence, so work is only like a 20 min drive for me. Ideas? thoughts?...

Here are various ideas I had about different countries when I was a child:

1) England - Frog and Toad Together and Winnie the Pooh have tea with Hobbits - everyone lived on the edge of a river in a sort of Hobbit hole - or they lived on the moors with a crazy aunt locked up in the attic.

2) Germany - Cold and full of people with very stern faces. Eastern bloc Germans were always hoping to score a car that wasn't made

Communication, what a novel concept, words, actions, deeds, motions; all a form of communication in one way or another. You can listen, read, write, use body language, use your eyes, use your hands, use your hands and your voice. Email, forums, texts, telephone calls, morse code, telegraph, hugs, kisses, pats, rubs, looks, smiles, frowns, tears of laughter, tears of sorrow. The question is what exactly is being communicated with all of these avenues to wander down? Is a smile a communication to...
