Sneaking In Some Sustenance For Certain Greenery

Posted 04-21-2012 at 09:18 AM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

There is always a time and a place for everything in life. In the case of seeing things like flower beds and bushes growing, you want to be sure that everything looks even halfway presentable for those who live at a residence. The residence in question for this post happens to be an apartment complex. You'd think the grounds crew would have figured out that something had gone wrong during last year's drought.

Here's the dill, pickle: There's a long line of shrubs...

Scattershooting Once More / Can Radio Still Be Relevant?

Posted 04-21-2012 at 08:47 AM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

I'm long overdue for more scattershooting, so let's do this right here. This is the time where I go here, there, and anywhere whenever something on my mind just has to be regurgitated. And I don't think you'd mind......

********

In the era of AM, FM, and now XM, the question can often be asked: Can radio still be a relevant component in everyday living? The answer's yes. Where corporate conglomerates are seeking to make radio less local...

All our men are snoozin'

Posted 04-20-2012 at 07:59 PM by LookinForMayberry

DH and Bigun are snoozing comfortably after a hard day working. Bigun was finally able to drag me out of the house after a three day health imposed hiatus. (I don't just have allergies, I'm special, I have asthmatic reactions to allergies -- something new to adjust to in my advanced years.)

DH is just taking a turn for the better with his cold, but I am still letting him sleep. He looks tons better than he did this morning.

Ritzie, our 13 year old Lhasa WAS awake with...

Moving Beyond Anxiety

Posted 04-20-2012 at 05:36 PM by soliloquyenlightened

I hold myself to incredibly high standards, higher than I hold anyone else; which, in a way, isn't all that bad. But I'm a borderline perfectionist if there ever was such a thing. I can look at my work and say, "It's good enough. I'm satisfied with what I've done." But there are many moments when I look at myself and wonder if I am good enough. I'm always striving for perfection, for congruency in thoughts, words, and deeds and I can be very privately self-deprecating when there is an...

Flat tire

Posted 04-19-2012 at 03:44 PM by LookinForMayberry

Just returned from the doctor, DH and I were talking about how what was once (when we were younger) a simple thing can devolve into a big thing, now.

Metaphorically, it's like getting a flat tire. When you are young, you jump out with the jack, raise the car to lift the axle, unscrew the lug nuts, etc... reverse the process with the new tire on, and you are back on the road.

Health situations when we are older seem like getting a flat tire, only to discover that the...
