Today is the anniversary of the horrible attacks on our nation on September 11th, 2001. I hope everyone takes a moment to reflect on that day and its significance. My heart and my prayers go out to anyone who was directly affected by those attacks and lost friends and family members. Hopefully we will never forget.

Despite a rally in stocks, mortgage backed securities managed to post nice gains yesterday following a stronger than expected 30 year bond auction. It is not very common...

This blog is dedicated to animal welfare and trying desperately to find some sense of human's 'disposable' attitude towards animals. Well the theme for the week continued yesterday with mortgage rates being contained within a narrow trading range. The lack of economic data to move the markets kept the trading activity well below average. We saw very little volatility but following the successful auction of 10 year treasury notes, mortgage backed securities did manage to post a small gain by day’s end. The improvement in price of MBS did not warrant reprices from lenders that would lower consumer borrowing costs.
