April 2009 Follow Up

Posted 05-05-2009 at 02:46 PM by Adam DeSilvester

Wow, I get a review before NOAA releases theres!

The wetter and warmer weather pattern that began in March 2009 continued thorughout April. The first 11 days of the month were cooler than normal which I could not believe after having a warm March. We had some pretty nice downpoors on the morning of the 12th, with the storm event on the 16th, 17th, and 18th (the greatest one of the month), and one final storm system ten days later on the 26th, 27th, and 28th. These strom events were...

March 2009 Follow Up

Posted 05-05-2009 at 02:35 PM by Adam DeSilvester

Yes! My wish did come true, March 2009 was a wet month overall with warmer than usual temeratures. Starting the month was mainly cool and sunny days, but this pattern changed to cloudy after the first five days. After our first few cloudy days, a cold front came into the area dumping a storm total rainfall amount of 2.16 inches within three days! Very refreshing wouldn't you say? However, these days were very cold for March. The 12th and 13th did not make it out of the 40s and the 14th was only...

February 2009 Follow Up

Posted 05-05-2009 at 02:24 PM by Adam DeSilvester

Continuing the dry and warm trend since September 2008, february was very warm and brought with it little rainfall. The monthly average temperature finished off 8.2 degrees above normal! I was amazed by last year's February 2008 that was 7.0 degrees above average but this year's February actually beat it. We even had a 90 degree day on the 27th, which may not be too uncommon, but that is a little sizzling for February. HAHA. Keep in mind that this year's Feb actually had lower average high temperatures...

January 2009 Follow Up

Posted 05-05-2009 at 02:16 PM by Adam DeSilvester
Updated 05-05-2009 at 02:27 PM by Adam DeSilvester

A very pleasant January came in 2009. With the monthly average temperature being 4.2 degrees above normal, I enjoyed having limited days where I needed to where a heavy jacket. Last year's January 2008 was dry like this one, although it was quite cooler with more freezes and days that did not make it out of the 40s. This year's January had days that were mainly in the 60s and 70s, and a few that made it up to the 80s. Only 0.27 inches of rain fell this month which sucks for the drought but I enjoyed...
