Seeing and Hearing Spirits

Posted 07-14-2008 at 05:20 AM by Sly25:17

I guess you could say that I have been able to see and hear spirits for most my life. My Mom says that it runs on her side of the family. Since I was a kid it was like this for me. As a teen I was still trying to understand this. Though I often was under the influence of alcohol and marijuana it was mostly when I was totally aware of things that I mostly saw and heard these things. It was really creepy to feel that someone was around me when in fact it couldn't be seen. It has been 10 years since...

Why I Love Science

As many people on this forum know, I am an avid follower of all things scientific. Some people do not quite understand or grasp the attachment that I have with it. I think that many people fear science for various reasons. Some people see it as a conflict with their religion and some people just genuinely don't "get it". I think that a large part of it comes with how science is taught in school. Rather than allowing schoolchildren to think about and explore the natural world, many are...

The first time I ever heard Josh Groban sing was on my car radio. The sun had disappeared for the day, and I was on my way home from the gym.

I was stunned. I don't get stunned very often. Where did this kid come from I thought. I sat there in my car (I had reached the parking lot halfway through the song) and just soaked it up. When the song ended, I didn't want it to.

I went into our apartment and told my husband about hearing the most phenomenal voice and touching...

The Dandelion

Posted 07-13-2008 at 08:33 PM by GoddessofRandomThoughts

(I actually posted this on a thread but thought I would put it here also)

Did you know?....Dandelions are sensitive to the weather. In good weather the head is fully open but if rain threatens it closes up. Also, the dandelion is said to close up against the dew around 5pm and to open up again at 7am. (Wonder if that's why it's called a clock?) Although this behaviour is said to depend on the intensity if the light so the times differ at different lattitudes and seasons.

Finding Peace Amid the Clouds

Posted 07-13-2008 at 07:07 PM by JoshB

I remember a few months ago I went flying for the first time ever. It all started when I thought about seeing the land I grew up around for the last 19 years. I thought to myself how can I grow some appreciation for my area? Well then I thought about flying and how I wanted to say that I've flown before.

So I called the local municipal airport one day and spoke with the head honcho. He gave me a guys phone number who loves to fly! I mean this guy has a passion beyond describing. So...
