If they did do something wrong they definitely need to be held accountable. Why would an officer chase down an unarmed man who's holding his hands in the air and repeatedly shoot him in the back?
He followed the sound of the gunfire and shot the wrong person.

It always some silly argument which leads to someone being killed over nothing .

Sounds like another deadbeat family is about to get a big payday a la Katherine Johnston. When is Markel going to show up to represent the family I wonder. The incompetent police in Atlanta are really starting to cost the city big bucks.

Ditto.

I just don't get why won't MARTA PD or any other Police agency in Atlanta develop policies for quickly getting police backup when a crowd increases en masse. It's just like the "Screen on the Green" stuff where police in the metro area are just too slow on the draw when crowds increase so quickly.

And yet whenever an incident arises where an officer has been shot, pretty much every police agency in the area of the incident swarm in very quickly. That sort of tactic should be the rule, not the exception. Crowds would be less likely to act out when there is a show of force.

Regardless of how one spins it the common man becomes afraid. Isnt fear what kept Marta from growing 20-30 years ago?

MARTA police are now claiming the victim was indeed armed, the cop was a white cop BTW so I hope they are telling the truth and not trying to prevent a race riot.

Well that possible, but it is no different then the money the government gives out to dead beat families on a regular basis, so whats the point?

No, I don't think so.

There was some resistance based on the theory that "transit brings crime," but the real reason is that that there simply wasn't much demand. MARTA planning took place during the 1960s, and the other metro counties were still just beginning to develop. In 1960 Cobb had 114,000 residents and Gwinnett and Clayton had around 45,000 each. By 1970 they'd grown quite a bit but between all three you still had only about 360,000 people. It would have hard to justify heavy rail with populations that low.

This news click is very interesting. The brother says the police shot the brother twice after he was on the ground?? If a suspect is on the ground why would the police fire two more rounds?
