Most of you people don't know what you're talking about. I would bet 90% of the people in that line are "re-sellers"....they have no interest in wearing the shoe. Look on ebay right now and you will see that same shoe selling for at least $400. Standing in line for a few hours to drop $200 for a pair of shoes only to turn around and sell them for $450 + shipping by the next morning ain't half bad. Buy 4-5 pairs of those shoes and flip those and then you have a decent haul for basically no work. I've done that for years, and it works. Stood in line for 2 hours last Xmas to get the Black &Red Jordan 11's aka 11 Breds, bought 2 pair from the North Dekalb Mall Foot Locker, then 2 pairs from Walters downtown, and 1 more from an online website. I literally sold all of them in 3 days for at a minimum of $500 a pair, all the while I only paid half that for each pair. Sold one pair for $800 to an Asian lady on Xmas eve who drove all the way from Johns Creek at 12 midnight just so her 14 y/o son could wake up on Xmas morning.with some new Jordans. And its not just a black thing. I've been buying and re selling shoes for years and most of my customers are White and Asian guys.from the burbs

So we leave him to run across the street and shoot them or someone else? They are a danger to society?

look, call it self-defense or not, that's not for the officer to decide on the spot— that's the job of a judge and jury. hell, if you're pulled over by a cop and given a ticket, you can't negotiate with them— what do they say? "tell that to the judge". and they can decide whether or not a shooting is in self-defense on the spot?

I find this fascinating. Didn't realize the profit potential. Fascinating, but freaking insane (for the people buying from the resellers). I saw a line downtown at Walters when I drove into work Saturday morning at 3:30am. That means those folks were sitting/standing there all night long. Whether Black Friday, Apple or sneakers, it's all a big out of whack. I hope my kids will learn the value of not being overly status conscious. I make a good living and almost never spend more than $20 or $30 for brand name shoes (online sales). Knowing the resale value of those Nikes, now I won't shake my head as I drive by anymore... I should probably get some questionable looks for sometimes driving into work before 4am

Yeah, the whole 'shoe as a commodity' thing was off my radar, too. Maybe we ought to start trading shoe futures.

Nice to see a thug taken off the streets.

I have bought the resale shoes for my sons, and we live in Buckhead. I remember years ago the bidding parents were doing on the new Xbox. It is the free market system and I think it is great when more people join in. Convenience comes at a price. It is just like flipping a house.

This is so true. My coworker re-sells Jordan's on Ebay as well. I had no idea beforehand about the $$$$ that could be made from doing this.
