How will this transportation improvement be effected by the terms of the NW Corridor HOT Project? A lot of these projects restrict transportation improvements in parallel corridors.

Anyone able to get details on this headline from behind the AJC paywall?

No public vote needed for controversial BRT project | www.ajc.com

I'm pretty sure the impact will be limited. eXpress buses using the HOT lanes to Cumberland are actually shown in this plan along I-75.

The BRT corridor is only along Cobb Pky between KSU and Cumberland, then hops into the HOV lanes along I-75 to Northside Drive where it mixes with traffic until 17th street where it uses the Atlantic Station Bus Lanes.

Wow, why are they proposing having the Arts-Center-to-Cumberland route AFTER the Cumberland-to-KSU route? Talk about a bus to nowhere...

Because eXpress buses and bicycles are totally going to cut it up to Suntrust Park! /s

No idea really. It SEEMS as if it would be trivial to extend service to Arts Center since there wouldn't be any needed construction...

And that fact will prevent Cobb County from getting any federal funds.

Which means that it'll probably be built anyway, but not as BRT, more like limited stop express busses with maybe signal priority?

I doubt the citizens of Cobb County pass the referendum.
