The attendance data clearly shows that the new stadium, at least to this point, is a big failure.

Pretty sad you allow your perspective to be so skewed.

Yes, pretty sad that I allow facts and data to influence my perceptions, instead of parroting mindless sloganeering and easily disproven fakenews.

Right, because the intersection of two major federal interstate highways in the 3rd most populous county in the 8th most populous U.S. state is "nowheresville".

I like the new stadium and development. Seems pretty successful to me from everything I've seen, even at this early stage, and I'm sure it will continue to be successful. I'm glad the Braves moved much closer, because I can walk to the games, now. And there's plenty of stuff to do there besides just the game.

Also glad that it freed up Summerhill for that nice new development. Glad for that area, and glad for GA state. Can't wait to see all that new development down there.

I'm not too worried about attendance. But the thing about attendance is that Atlanta is notoriously not a sports city, even when things are going well, and these Braves have a losing record and not much in the way of big stars or an exciting product right now. The team ownership is some corporation off in some other state, so they don't care. Hate this owner.

Plus it sounds like only about half the restaurants are open yet, and the Omni hotel is not open yet. I mean, it's early.

If you haters and losers in this thread lived in the immediate area like I do, maybe you'd feel some hope and pride and would be defending it like I am. Or at least trying to be positive. I never asked for or expected this development, but now this development matters to me, and I would rather it do as well as possible. That would be good for me and my area.

Average attendance when this thread was posted (4/19/17): 31,316

Average attendance today: 29,863

29,863 < 31,316

Number of seasons at Turner Field with higher attendance: 6 of 20 as of 4/19/17 (re: see the title), 13 of 20 today.

You were wrong, they are at 38% YOY boost and in the middle of their higher attendance period. Ya'll are just trolls.

I can't believe people are still moaning about the Braves. It's done, folks. They've got a marvelous new facility a short distance away and everyone who's been there sings it praises. Cobb has seen a major boom as a result.

The old Turner field location is being redeveloped into something very nice. The Falcons are still here and they have a great new stadium. The Hawks are on the edge of a major renovation that could really help south downtown.

How long will the whining go on?

Good grief.

Attendance isn't the only measure to judge the decision on. There's also the net profit for the team and the fan experience. We all know attendance goes up and down based on the excitement surrounding the team.
