It's a win-win for both cumberland and summerhill, since they both get these nice, exciting, area-catalyzing developments. And it's a win for the rest of the metro, since we get both of these new developments and whatever else comes from them.

I mean, they moved 14 miles, y'all. I commute 26 miles to work every morning. That's why all this "good riddance, hope you fail in your new home" talk seems silly to me.

And by all means, don't go to the games. But don't go to the games because the team sucks and the ownership sucks. Not because of our socio-political metro balkanization mindset. I wish everyone would please stop with that stuff, otp and itp.

Hopefully people can learn to move past it. Most of those that have responded being critical of the division this has created in the metro are the same people that have joined the Braves in their Anti-Atlanta / Anti-Summerhill attacks. And those attacks are exactly why this has divided the metro so much. No one really cares about 10 miles in metro Atlanta.

I have said multiple times that the new Braves stadium is nice it is just a BS deal. Think that is something about everyone in the metro can agree on.

I'm looking forward to checking out the new Summerhill, when they're done with everything. Renderings I've seen look fantastic.

Ask the parents standing in line for Dumbo in Orlando in August if they love Disney.

Fix your damn city. Atlanta is like a big parking lot slash highway. I'm sure if it had been the authentic, attractive, Wrigley Field type environment, the owners would have had zero desire at all to relocate the stadium. So don't blame Cobb County for your own city's being a dump.
Atlanta, like many cities was built on human scale, until state and federal level highway planners rammed freeways thru once vibrant, minority neighborhoods in the name of national defense. The visual has been shown many times of what Downtown Atlanta looked pre-downtown connector and now, so don't blame residents who were not even alive(except arjay) during the period of freeway building.

Comparing a 14 mile recreational trip to a commute you choose is not on the same level. The best part of Turner Field for me was the convenience of the stadium and transportation options from my house; MARTA rail, MARTA bus, bicycle, carpool. I live a car-lite lifestyle, STP does not fit that mold.

And equally, there are plenty of us that didn't enjoy having to drive basically INTO the city to even access marta or be able to go to a game. And contrary to what ITP folks think, most people in the metro aren't inside the City of Atlanta. Well, the vast majority aren't. It just is what it is.

Likewise, the no-MARTA-in-Cobb decision was made decades before most of us residing here were born, in a completely different world, yet, we get faulted and criticized for it constantly, by you and others.

Yeah, of course those problems in the city came about 50 years ago, but that doesn't mean it's not your city, or your problem, or your responsibility to try to fix.

Well, my commute will be less than 10 miles in a few months, when the new office is ready.

If you ever do want to go to a game at STP, just take the CCT 10 bus from Arts Center.

But it's totally understandable if you don't, given your lifestyle choice and location. But luckily for the Braves though, you're the 1% in this metro. Almost everybody drives almost everywhere, even most folks in the CoA.

Yet, your elected officials continue to ignore the need for transit because they know the ones who show up and vote are the same ones who decades ago protested No-MARTA-in-Cobb.
