Sounds like nonsense to me.

This is sounds an awful lot like a comment coming from someone who has no idea what he's talking about. You obviously have some basic knowledge of Atlanta, but know very little about gay life in Atlanta.

This is flawed. You must have not been to Decatur. Also, I hear there is a large gay presence in the East Point/College Park area and Marietta.

I think I'm gonna jump on this bandwagon.

What - are - you - smoking - dude?

I think empirical observation shows you're dead wrong on both those counts, pardner.

I laughed because I was actually going to post earlier that I've been surprised lately after spending a little time in East Cobb to notice a not insignificant gay presence here. Not huge by any means, but not invisible either. So the idea that gays are only found inside the city, in Midtown, is wrong I think.

The community is non existant. Are you talking about having one gay area where all blacks gay are living?

Because they are every where here in Atlanta. Not centrally located in the one area and trust people across america no about the Atlanta and its black Gay community and in Atlanta. The presence of black gay men is well existant.

East decatur is the mega for black gays and downlow bi sexuals. Major area for black bi sexuals. Most are now moving to lithonia/gwennett areas. and all the mega black church choirs are directed by gays. most pianists/organist/key board players, and most assuredly the famous choir singers.

As an outsider. Atlanta has a huge gay population. Its visible to me as an outsider so I know it exist.

On the flipside there is no place that resembles boystown in chicago or the castro in sanfrancisco. I think the reason for that is atlanta is still a very young city.

I think that's a black thing across the board not just Atlanta. Why is that? Nobody hates gay folks more than some of these mega black churchs so why work for them? That's always been so curious to me. But right there is no real black gay neighborhood they're all over where there are black folks there are gay folks too. I was reading somewhere that gay folks make up 3% of the white population in the US but 5% of the black population. It was interesting statistic but there's no way to really find out.

I haven't been to Chicago so can't say. But Castro is unique to San Francisco though. There's no neighborhood ANYWHERE that is as exclusively gay like the Castro which I read is like 98% gay. Either way I love Midtown Atlanta.
