Glad they are finally developing that site. Looks like there is only one supertall (300m) in Texas (Houston) and this would be the second. Hopefully they will clean up and have some trails along the creek.

If I recall a few years ago there we proposing three towers on this and a neighboring site, but this will have even greater potential.

Is Austin going to allow that? Really doesn't mesh with the city.

What are they going to do with Ironworks BBQ? They're at 100 Red River. There will be a fight to keep that. I hope this gets more attention, I think it will be a battle when people hear about this addition. I have feelings, even as a more recent Austin resident about the placement of this godzilla of a building. Also, just an observation, that the construction workers have to park at Festival Beach and haul all their stuff past Rainey in the morning. Construction is a hard job made even harder when they have to walk a mile to work. And would this not obstruct the view of the capitol at some point? Being that large and within maybe 2 miles (using my running sense) I feel like this might be problematic.

There is an ~850 building under construction, and another close to that. So the supertalll height won’t look that out of place. It won’t be like Devon tower in Oklahoma City.

So we will be the only city with a super tall that doesn’t have a pro football, baseball, or basket ball team.

There's actually 2 supertalls in Texas. The other one is the Wells Fargo Bank Plaza in Houston which stands at 992ft or 302 meters.

Why does Downtown Dallas have building height restrictions anyway? Is it because of Love Field or the clay soil?
