Couldn't believe that. I got up to get a drink during a commercial and came back, waited...waited...waited and then the news was on!!! Happen to switch to NBCSN and almost missed the end. Absolutely ridiculous move by NBC.

Here's something I don't understand.. How have the Wood Brothers not picked up Matty D's option yet?

Who are they going to get to drive that car that's any better than him? I'd say he's the top free agent out there, all things considered. Kyle Larson is likely the better driver, but there's the baggage that comes with that for the moment.

Suarez, Lajoie and Jones are the others that are available right now.. And I wouldn't say any of them are an upgrade over DiBennedetto.

All three are talented, but I wouldn't give up the year of experience with DiBennedetto to hire one of them. It's not like an in-his-prime Jimmy Johnson is available.

You and me both. Sent them an email, as if that will do anything.

I believe they are probably holding that ride open for the Penske xfinity driver whose name escapes me right now. I agree with you though... If I had a team Matt D would be right up there at the top of my list not only is he a quality driver he is a quality individual.
It is a shame , but such is the state of NASCAR where a driver has to bring their own money, when guys like Matt get left out in the cold and the likes of Darrell Wallace get opportunities based on things other thatn their driving skills.

My guess would be either Briscoe and/or Cindric will move into a Cup ride next season with the year they have had.

Yeah, what a revolving door it has become, all the teams began these developement driver programs and now they have to move them up after a year or 2 or lose them to another team. I think the suggestion that they have a mandatory length of time they drive in the lower series before moving up might not be such a bad idea.
I think Cindric takes Matt D's seat . I dont think Stewart is going to let Briscoe go somewhere else. He will end up in the seat being vacated by Corey Lajoie at GOFAS, that keeps him in Stewarts camp while they wait for Boyer to retire.

Some things that I've seen indicate that the 88 may be mothballed.

Suarez has picked up a ride. Trackhouse Racing, which seems to be owned by former(?) driver Justin Marks.

Chevy.. Don't know if they have an alliance with anyone or not.

I have a hunch the reason Bowman was moved to the 48 was perhaps a sponser request.... still believe Hendrick is going to bring in Kyle Larson and perhaps The sponser on the 48 wasnt on board so Hendrick will put Larson in the old 88 maybe change it back to the 5 or some other number and will get a sponser that will embrace Larson. Just a hunch... Mattie D would be a great fit at Hendrick though. Be good to see him in a Chevy.
