Aren't you going to be slowing down anyway as the majority of people don't go full bore into a turn without braking so even if he's tapping his brakes and one side is out you'd be doing the same thing I'd imagine? So when is Europe going to start requiring the safety standards we have?
You like to praise America and want to make everything more difficult when it is proven that amber back turn signals lead to less rear-end crashes even according to US studies!

I think we should just make signaling and braking of all kinds illegal and punishable by flogging. That will weed out the weak and ill-prepared and leave only the strong ready for battle.

Rarely? According to Stats: Seat Belt Use 50% of teens wear seatbelts. And they are the age group LEAST likely to wear it.

Oh yeah, I remember that study. They built two identical cities with the same people going to same workplaces and vacations spot . In one city people drove cars with amber turn signals. In the the other red turn signals. Study showed accidents dropped 33.6754% with amber turn signals.

I need a nap after reading that.

Does it take into account the number of people with color blindness.

Or the people who had an issue with certain colored braked lights and decided to ram into the car out of spite

You can look for both of those. Once was enough for me.

Years ago, I owned a 1954 Sunbeam Talbot, which was a touring sedan, that also had a lot of class racing records in Europe. It had those little arms that showed you were turning such as the ones on that apparently Rolls shown earlier in this post. I know from experience how well they worked, talking to people that had a far harder time seeing I was turning than with flashing tail lights and front amber flashing lights. They simply do not show up that well. Tiny side amber lights are even worse.

The turn signal in the front 1/3 of the vehicle side is pointless. Even if I see it im already blocking thst section of the road, which means no matter how much you warn me I am still in that lane. It would require me to slow down let you get in front or speed up you change lanes behind me.
At no time does that turn signal make it any safer. Guess all it would do is tell me you're about to hit me by changing lanes into me. But if you were paying attention you would KNOW there is a vehicle in the vicinity.
It's the most pointless safety thing I ever saw on a vehicle. All it would require for a safe lane change is to get your eyes off the iPhone and look around when turning or changing lanes. But that would require a driver to actually think and pay attention
