We like 8' beds to be able to haul whole sheets of plywood or sheet rock. We make fun of the double cab 6' bed trucks. Might as well have a car with a trunk. Still, they're pretty, I know. I don't fault anyone for driving what they want.
We put the tailgate down! And it's easier to get the items that always work their way to the center of forward part of the bed. Wait, who am I kidding, that's a pain no matter what length bed you have.
That's a good thing about a pick up! There are plenty of different styles, models and options based on the same platform that you can get the exact vehicle to fit your needs!
Yeah, lived in Germany for 4 years and ventured all over Europe. Sure in the heart of the old cities they've got narrow cobble stone streets and such. But even out in the country with wide open spaces trucks just aren't as popular.
Until you go to the UK or Scotland and see all the Land Rover pickups being used (and I saw a few F150s, too, out on the farms)
Looking at the mileage, they hardly drive much there.
