The ft86 or BRZ would be he RSXs spirit animal of today, imo or the civic SI, even more so.
Civic maybe but not the twins. They are not hatchbacks and do not have much space or flexibility in cargo capacity. One of the big appeals to coupes like the RSX (or any hatch coupe) is the hatch really opens up a ton of cargo space and flexibility. I used to have a Ford Probe hatch and could throw a mountain bike in the hatch if I wanted. The BRZ I had on the other hand would struggle to swallow my toddlers bike due to the small trunk opening, and shallow height of the pass through.

Before my Chargers, I had a Caliber. I cannot believe mow much stuff I could put in that thing!
Unlike most fold down seats, the Calibers really did fold completely flat...even the front passenger seat. I was able to haul 8' lumber in it and still close the hatch. It's a 4 dooor though.
I got in used with 40k on it and two years old. Four years later pushing 120k all I even needed to do to it was a battery, tires and oil/filters.

I knew a girl once with a Caliber. Hers treated her well, too.
For the most part, salesmen don't have to, as there's a booming market in used EVs as they come off lease. The demand is pretty high for used ones. Mostly because they are pretty cheap. 2015 i3s that were $50k to start are going for $15k, but they won't get much cheaper. Spark EVs and Fiat 500es are going for $7-10k. eGolfs and Focus EVs are in the middle, as are Volts.
Depends completely on what type of vehicle you're talking about. The "Apple" effect. You practically cannot give away a used laptop, but if it's a used MACBOOK, you can get several hundred $$$ for a model 10+ years old.
Same with a Tesla, a 2013 Model S averages about $30k in my area. 1 y/o Model X is $90k. So much for "it loses half its value as soon as you drive it off the lot!"

People cannot believe this flagpole actually fits in the back of a Merkur XR4Ti, along with that sign, two chairs with cushions and a plethora of other display items.
And that's with only one side of the back seat partially folded.

THAT is the reason I personally would never buy a sedan -- or any car with a trunk -- again. The lack of cargo space. And that's why I think others are also moving away from sedans. They want more carrying room, ie. cargo space. And a sedan with a trunk just doesn't give provide that.

I bought my first car in 1981. I've never bought anything with a trunk. I guess if I lived somewhere urban, I'd want to keep things out of sight. For me, I need something with some kind of liftgate or tailgate or hatch to haul all my stuff around.

My first car was a 1972 Barracuda with a 318+2.
