I drive with the fog lights on as well as the headlights at all times day or night.
There is always some jerk who wanders over without a turn signal or even looking in the mirror first. My lights will draw his/her attention and make them aware I am there before they make that lane change with inches to spare. I have found incidents like that occur less when I drive with as much light as I can bare legally.
I lived in England for 50 years and yellow head lamps have never been standard . Extra fitted fog lamps could be fitted that were yellow and you could buy yellow lens covers if you were travelling to France but not in England
That is correct. Only France had them until the mid 80's and in the early 90's they requires white ones except for very old cars with the old all yellow lenses.
Front fogs were never required in Europe. Tail fogs started in the late 70's and then got required.
Many dumb people have those on when there is no fog or in the city which is dangerous as they blind and hide the brake lights.
They are good in really bad fog though. Sometimes you can hardly see those tail fogs and some crazy ones drive without.
Here in the US I never traveled through much fog so I can't compare the situation.
My fog lights come on automatically whenever my auto lights come on. I actually like it because the fog light symbol appears on the dash and that lets me know the lights turned on.

Funny you say this, because on the way back to the plant for lunch, some bozo in a 2000ish v6 Mustang decided to flip on the turn signal and attempt to slide into my lane with me in the way.
I am pretty sure looking back into a pair of headlamps and fogs (in semi-bad midday fogginess) woke that loser up. Enough that (I assume a) he flipped the turn signal on well behind me, but I guess was gunshy and never moved over.
I assume this person is a he since there were three of those fake fender portholes at least on the driver's side fender...I think women have more shame than that.
You didn't know? The weatherman said there was a chance of flurries. Can never be to carefull.
I think it is just the style to burn all the lights you have(cool). If you don"t use your windshield wipers when it's not raining, why would you turn on foglights when there's no fog?

Why do you park in a driveway and drive on a parkway?
Some don't have drl and they just want to fit in, whole other just because they can.
Why open the window when you have a heater and A/C?
Why eat a apple when you could have a orange?
Are they still "fog" lights if they are not yellow or amber?
It's not your car so why do you care?
Do the other drivers on the road have to listen to the same radio station as you or it ok if they listen to something else?
They don't bother me if they're down low, but the big round ones on the newer Mustangs really annoy me, they look like an extra set of headlights.
