Copsgirl73 & Delta07 , Thank you for the + rating for July, we are coming later in the month and not staying in my preferred location because my wife wants the teens to be near the Old Mill area so they can be walkable to events there. It should be a good family trip and the first for the teenagers, glad I won't have to be the shuttle service for them
, they can bike or walk most places, except our road trips out of town.
Looks like my kind of weather there today almost exactly the same weather here in the east coast.

It is a gorgeous day here! Just got home for the Earth Day events downtown. My husband played in one of the bands.
As far as stargazing goes, head to Pine Mountain Observatory. It's about an hour east of Bend off of Hwy. 20. The stars are absolutely amazing out there. Make sure you bring a warm jacket, hat and gloves with you though. Even in the summer, it gets really cold out there! My FIL froze up there in August even in a down jacket.
