Buckle your seat belts, kids, it's going to be a bumpy ride!

When the stuff in the World gets really crazy, there shall arise "quite-a-man" who will be handsome and appear gifted in government and be a sooth sayer and offer all the "right" answers to solve the World Problems. Many shall be deceived. He will "make peace" with Israel and the Arab Nations. His number will be 666 (what ever that shall mean.) Eventually he will turn against Israel and offer the Abomination of Desolation and also declare himself as "god" and demand to be worshipped as "god". The Nations of the World will not be able to buy or sell without the mark of the beast. His end will be climatic.

Sorry, there's a time and a place for everything, and I think this is neither the time nor place for your personal religious proclamation. It is offensive to people with different religious beliefs, including Native Hawai'ians, whose culture was nearly destroyed by so called "Christian" missionaries.

Then how come Christianity is so embraced by "local Hawaiians"?

ps - don't bother answering. I think others already know your answer.

Christianity is embraced by SOME "local Hawai'ians," but is also reviled by others. I think one has to be sensitive to such differences in a changing world. You'll notice that the Hawai'i State Senate has just dropped the Christian prayer that used to open each session, precisely for this reason.

They dropped it because they were trying to be politically correct. Spineless democrats.

No, they dropped it to honor the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights.

Default Taking care of one's own Health

As I become aged and full of cobwebs, trailing my clothes, I cannot but help wonder about the many varied choices we are exposed to. Shall I take vodka, whiskey into my body, shall I use cigarettes so that others may fork over tax money to pay for my infirment. Shall I read porn and think about all manner of filthy mind adventures to my own detriment. Opps, I almost referred to a spiritual component. Better catch that as it is no longer a free country. The Thought Police are barely on patrol.

So how shall I address this life I was given ? Shall I enrich my mind with useful skills so that I may earn a living, or wallow in degenerate stuff and presuppose that I can all ways go on welfare, SSI, or seek out government hand outs ? One can say that the choice is mine! I can do what ever and as often as I choose - right ? And without any consequences at all - since there is no Wonderful Creator God except for Satan, the wiley one, right? Or do we dismiss all of this and declare ourselves to be god of all we survey ?

Value Christian wisdom? Consider:

"Judge not, that ye be not judged"

"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone"

"Father forgive them, for they know not what they do"

"
But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."

ummmm ... and dozens and dozens more ... all about your relationship with God being best kept personal, private, and without judgment of others. Ponder and prosper.

Aloha

My friends on the mainland inform me that many mothers are convinced that the only way to take care of an "unwanted" pregnancy is to abort the bebe. Too bad the kid does not have a say in the matter.

Not sure how this is an Hawaii issue ...
but:
too bad none of the more than 1 million persons who commit suicide each year due to sickness and despair over lives too painful to endure don't have a say in being born, either.

and too bad that so many who insist every life conceived be brought to birth don't seem to care much about those who struggle to survive in endless misery and pain once they are here.
