I started "8th Confession" by James Patterson late last night. I should know better than to begin reading these so late at night! I was up over half the night and am almost halfway through the book already - and loving every word of it so far.

I know that they are other forums for this but I like the people on this forum. The people on the other forums are so annoying and boring. Then the sites with the people that aren't so boring are more immature then I am! Anyway, I'm currently reading "The Kite Runner" and it's great so far. Below is my list of books I've read recently and yes, I liked them all.

My all time Favorite book is Song of Solomon by Toni Morrison. I can go on and on. But the the book I keep going back to over and over again is 1-2-3 Magic: Effective Discipline for Children 2-12. I love my kids but they drive me crazy
I am reading this hilarious (and heartbreaking) memoir by Chris Campion called Escape from Bellevue: A Dive Bar Odyssey. Chris is the lead singer for the Knockout Drops and he really did escape from Bellevue. The memoir is about his alcoholism, drug use, etc. before and during the band's heyday.
I know it sounds cruel and totally unfeeling to say it's hilarious, but it really is. He KNEW he was a complete wastoid but was powerless to do anything about it. He tried to hold down jobs while getting the band up and going/getting a record deal, but he just couldn't, due to being perpetually trashed and/or colossally hungover. It's also completely heartbreaking along with hitting a little too close for comfort.

I just started on the first one and have the 4th one checked out from the library. Are they best read in order? If so I'd better take 4 back.

Actually, each is good 'stand alone'. That's mainly because Patterson is pretty good at the quick flash back to explain why his characters feel or think in certain ways. He's done the same in his Alex Cross books. The main reason I've read the Women's Murder Club books in order is that I've managed to get them each as they've been published. (By the time he started with them I was already a fan to the point that I actually look for his new books every few months.)
I'm at the beggining of Life of Pi. So far, I'm thinking okay so where are you going with this?
I LOVED that book. It was a book club book and I was like, "Ugh"...but I really really enjoyed it!
