The beating anorexia is ironic as I sit in a weight watchers meeting.
My wife and I were both lifetime members, having lost 175 pound between us ... until we moved to a 55+ community in Delaware. We're surrounded by friends who love to cook, love to eat, and love to socialize. It's has become a real challenge to maintain our weight! We try to remember all the things that we learned at Weight Watchers meetings, such as "If you eat it over the kitchen sink, it has no points", "Food used for medicinal purposes never counts, like hot chocolate, brandy, and Sara Lee Cheesecake" and all those other helpful hints.

I started the first of the year and down nearly 30 pounds. My wife started a year ago and she's down 55 pounds. I am the cook in the house. I like trying new things, I am really enjoying new vegetables, or ones I wouldn't consider before.

That's a fabulous accomplishment. Congratulations ... and stay with it. When you fall off the wagon, it really is tough to get back on!
I am determined to get to and remain at a healthy weigh and be more active. I've been wanting to take up kayaking for a while now. Also I'm wanting to obtain my pilots license.
good for both of you. I wish I had the will power and I wish the cooking wasn't my favorite past time. I did belong to WW many years ago. I was at least 50 lbs lighter than now and thought I needed to drop a few lbs. Now, between aging, cooking too many rich foods and no activity, partly because of knee problems, partly laziness, I just keep the weight on. I have lost about 5 lbs,but need to shed about 50 more. Today I go to rehab and they will evaluate the knee situation to see if rehab will help. At least if I can do something it would help a little. The doctor really doesn't want me walking anymore than I have to, so the idea of starting a walking regime isn't going to work. I might start water arobics though.
I got my port out yesterday! Woo hoo!!! So happy! Sore, but happy! Ouch!
Happy for you! I have to wait for six more months before I can have mine removed. I still have six more months of Herceptin........but I did buy shampoo today for the first time in six months and that was very exciting for me.
