My scan is tomorrow and I have a swollen lymph node over my collar bone about 2 weeks ago. Panic panic panic. It's not big - when I was diagnosed, the same node was the size of a ping pong ball and popped up overnight. This one is only Skittle sized, but I can't stop touching it which has made the area around it swell. I had tonsilitis a few weeks ago, but this popped up afterward. I'm praying it's a calcified lymph node, because I can't afford (emotionally or financially) to go through this rodeo again.
Thanks, everyone! After a really rough day in the hospital and a huge bruise on my forearm from the IV, NED! My oncologist felt my lymph node and didn't seem too worried, and then ran downstairs to consult with the radiologist (thank G-d for Dana-Farber doing everything same-day). It's a little swollen, but PET negative and my oncologist told me he "wasn't impressed." Woo! Now getting my first good night's rest since this little bugger popped up.

Good news, what a good way to start 2014. We feel the same, right now all of hubby's problems are behind him and there seems to be no new cancers.
My father is having surgery Tuesday to remove a tumor in his colon. The tumor did shrink from the chemo and radiation treatments which he endured very well, but tuesday is the day for him. This is first time a family member has had cancer so
I am a bit naive on things, but am hoping for the best for him. The cancer didn't spread...which is a good thing, but the whole
process is going to take about a year..
My Sis and I will be there for him when he is in recovery (I'm being positive about this and am praying nothing goes wrong during the surgery itself) and from there he'll have a colostomy bag for about 6 months and another surgery to rebuild his
rectum area..
He's having a hard time with it all, and i can't blame em. Being positive and just being there for him in general is all i can do.
Thank God he's in good hands with the folks at Lahey Clinic...I found this forum and felt like venting a bit.
I wish anyone going through a difficult time the best and a healthy recovery..What a nasty disease, and still no cure.
But progress is being made, and I'll take that for now..
