Good luck with your parents, brienzi; it's not easy dealing with aging parents, especially with one who has survived cancer. My mom is in her 80s and is a five year breast cancer survivor.

Thank you and my best to you and your mom ca4now. My family is large yet this is the only time one who has had cancer. I've made some negative posts about the whole pink campaign but after going through it feel remorse.

I wish your mom well and continued being cancer free. And yes dealing with aging sick parents is difficult emotionally, yet something i can handle out of love..

The stress is hard, the tide has turned and the son's and daughter's take care of their parents. Be that what it is.

As far as the whole pink campaign, it is well meaning, however like any campaign there are some missteps. That is the nature of the beast. Year ago it was the "Livestrong" yellow ribbons.

In the end, does it do what its set out to do? Raise awareness? Raise money? Yes, hopefully for research and patient care. Does it educate? Yes, if you allow it to teach you.

It is hard coming into the thread and section seeing Chele's name in bold black. She was one of my favorites in this part of the forum.

I agree. I still can't believe she's gone. I'm so glad that she was able to go on her river rafting trip earlier this summer; I think the picture is still on this thread.
(Edited to say yes, it's post #701.)

Then last night a friend from high school lost her battle with cancer. She was always so positive.
