I'm still alive for now. i'm in rehab and My arms are building back their strength. My legs still don't work. I get physical therapy 5 days a week. Turns out that Medicare covers only 20 days of rehab every 3 months. I go home under hospice care in a week. Medicare will cover 100% of the cost.
I took two bad falls on Jan 30 and 31. I was admitted to the hospital on Feb 2. My arms, legs, bladder and bowels didn't work. After a series of events of hospitalization, rehab, back to hospital, rehab, hospital, and now rehab I haven't been home since Feb 2. We found that my lungs collapsed in the lower lobes. The lung specialist said he can't do anything else for me to make my lungs any better.
Meanwhile, the cancer grew back. My oncologist said she couldn't give me chemo again because with my lungs like this, it'd kill me. The cancer is back. I can't have any more scans or xrays because I can't get in to have them done. My legs don't work and medical transport costs a small fortune. Can you believe $454 for a round trip stretcher transport? Unreal.
So there won't be any remission for me and it looks like the cancer will get me after all.
Thanks for your prayers and good thoughts. I can still use more of them too.
Lily-I have not been a part of CD much for awhile now but I often think of you and send good thoughts your way.
You are a wonderful and thoughtful lady who will never be forgotten. I remember so many of the good times and fun conversations at the Cozy Inn. What a great time we all had and you were always a huge part of it. You made sure to include and remember everyone whenever you posted. Such a caring woman like you deserves so much more.
As always I am keeping in my thoughts. Big hugs to you.

Thinking of you lily and asking the father to bless you with his grace. Just know you are well thought of.
Blessings to all of you who are on the journey through cancer treatment. I am 7 years past it and so I know what you're going through.
Just today, a dear friend was diagnosed with Invasive Lobular BC. Of course, I try to be encouraging and share the things that helped me, but it's been a long time, and I've tried to put breast cancer out of my mind. I always picture a dog kicking dirt on his business and running away, when I think about getting finished with treatment.
What words of encouragement helped you the most? What's the latest and greatest advise about reconstruction?
