In August it will be 5 years since my double mastectomy. I always get a tiny bit nervous when I go for my blood tests. I know 5 years isn't a magic number but I feel that once I get past that I should be okay.

My dog is dying on lymphoma and I am having a hard time keeping it together. Ever since we got her when I was in high school, the joke was that she mimicked me. I had lots of allergies, she had lots of allergies. I snored, she snored. Even after years of being away, she recognized me immediately when I was last home and was attached at the hip, even insisting on squishing her 80 pounds up against me in a tiny twin sized bed all night. I wish she didn't mimic me for this. There's nothing more that can be done for her - chemo/surgery would only buy a few months at most of a greatly diminished quality of life.

I wish it was anything but lymphoma.

That sucks. Had a perminent foster beagle that had liver cancer. The day after Christmas 2013 he was put to sleep. I cried. It took a long time to cope with that. Only had him 2 years. He was an older dog. My oldest dog is 16. He keeps plugging along. Every morning I check to see if he made it through the night.
