Hoping and praying for the best possible outcome. I am sure being in a loving home, this cat is well aware of it. I am sure she will give it her all to have as much time as possible in a warm and loving home.
A few of you have asked for updates. I took Allie in to the vet on Friday. She had gone from 8 lbs. to 7 lbs. 1 oz. This didn't alarm the vet, despite my increasing her meals from twice a day to three times a day. She's on steroids now, so she does have a good appetite. It concerned me, though, and I fed her four times a day both Friday and Saturday. She finished every bite both days, so I plan to continue with that plan. The vet said it would likely take a while for her to show any significant weight gain, but that she appears to be doing well. She's definitely feeling much better than she was a week ago.
I asked what the prognosis was (provided it's lymphoma and not just IBS). The vet said that it should probably be about three months. I could hardly believe it! I had expected her to say I could probably plan on about a year. She reminded me, though, that in cat years, three months would be just short of a year. That made sense, but didn't do much to make me feel better. I'm hoping it may just be IBS and that she won't start going downhill again within a couple of months. This wait-and-see stuff is hard on me. Anyway, she's doing well at the moment, and that's the best Christmas present I could possibly ask for.
It's great news that she's doing better. If it were me, I'd feed her whenever she wanted to eat. For that matter, I'd let her do whatever she wanted, whenever she wanted. I also hope it's IBD.

You and Allie are in my prayers this Christmas.
Do not give up hope. These little guys can surprise us sometimes, and sometimes vets are wrong.
I had a dog who started throwing up everything - food, water, you name it - about nine years ago. The vet looked at him, x-rayed, and all of that, and told me that he had a basically inoperable mass or blockage of some kind in his lower digestive tract. He spent a night or two at the hospital while they did all of these things. When I got the news from the vet, I went to say goodbye before having him put to sleep, and he was so perky and happy to see me that I said, no, I want to wait on that, and see if he can have a few more good days.
That dog lived for six more years, and finally went to the Bridge last December, at the age of 14.
Whatever time you have left with Allie, enjoy it to the fullest, and remember - you will see each other again.

enjoy each and every day. Each moment. I know you will.
Sorry Katzpur...but you could still get a "better" diagnosis.
Waiting IS hard...
enjoy your time with her throughout the holidays.
